The recommendations in this section are using the RoI fertiliser classification system and are based on Teagasc research. Due to slight differences between the RoI and NI classification systems, these recommendations are only a guide for Northern Ireland farmers. They can be converted between the RoI and NI classification systems using this CONVERSION TABLE
This section of the website is designed to help farmers and technical advisors choose the correct fertiliser product for their particular situation, taking Teagasc soil analysis recommendations, expected yield, stocking rate, previous cropping etc., into account. Goulding Chemicals Limited would like to thank the staff at Johnstown Castle for their active support in the production of this section.
The products recommended for each situation are guideline recommendations only and these products can be substituted with products containing similar combinations of nutrients.
We are in an era of precision farming where fertiliser inputs must be matched with expected crop yields. From a cost and environmental point of view, it is vital that fertiliser application rates be precise. The Goulding range of products is designed to ensure that they cater for any requirement to optimise needs, and yet not damage the environment.
It is therefore advised that each farmer has a knowledge of the soil fertility status of their farm before applying fertiliser. Soil analysis should be carried out regularly so that nutrient application can be matched to crop requirement.
