| Main Hazards |
- Corrosive |
| Nitric acid is corrosive and can cause severe burns to all parts of the body. Its vapours are corrosive to the respiratory tract and may cause pulmonary oedema which could prove fatal. Keep out of reach of children. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Never add water to this product. |

Liquid splashes may produce severe burns to skin and may cause serious damage to eyes. |

| Inhalation |
Fumes are corrosive to the respiratory tract and will cause severe coughing, sore throat and laboured breathing. Fluid build up on the lung (pulmonary oedema) may occur up to 48 hours after exposure and could prove fatal. |

Acute effects predominate and their severity is such that significant repeated or prolonged exposure is unlikely.
Repeated exposure to high levels produces adverse effects on lungs and teeth.
